Summary of Seattle Children’s Hospital Research Program
In some children, the CCM is caused by gene changes (variants) that can be passed down in families. Seattle Children’s neurologists and geneticists work together to diagnose familial CCM. Identifying the precise genetic cause of a child’s CCM may expand their treatment options.
Second Opinions at Seattle Children’s Hospital
If you would like an appointment or second opinion from the Cerebral Cavernous Malformation team at Seattle Children’s, ask your child’s primary care provider for a referral.
Patient Education/Support
Includes a dedicated web page for CCM, patient education handouts in clinic, and connection to community resources and support groups. At Seattle Children’s, our team cares for children and families from around the Northwest and beyond. Our social workers and child life specialists provide support for our patient families. We can also help with financial counseling, schooling, housing, transportation, interpreter services and spiritual care.
